Észrevételek az uráli számnevekről 57 rendszerről. Ennek kapcsán keletkezett a most idézendő állásfoglalás: „Kovács (1960, 126) hit upon the right thing when he wrote: »the respective numerals in the Fenno-Ugric and Samoyedic languages have sprung from separate beginnings, have been developed in ways totally unconnected with each other, and constitute two systems entirely independent of each other«. It should also be added that the FU decimal numeral systems developed and appeared under strong IE influence, as it can be seen from the IE origin of FU words for ’hundred’ and ’thousand’ and from later borrowings of ’ten’ into Proto-Permian and Hu. from Ir. and of ’thousand’ into Finnic from Germanic (see complete review in Honti 1993). The Toch. numeral System, in turn, also had such significance for their non-IE neighbours to be borrowed: cf. the Toch. origin of Turkic ’four’, ’five’, ’twenty’, ’ten thousand’ and, perhaps, ’eight’ (Róna-Tas 1986). There is nothing surprising in the hypothesis of borrowing a numeral significant for both Uralic and IE cultures such as ’seven’ into three Uralic subgroups from different IE languages. The time when these borrowings were likely to have taken place - from the beginning of the 2nd millennium BC... to the middle of the 1 st millennium BC..., into PS may be later, up till first centuries AD)16 - was apparently the time of the final formation of the decimal numeral Systems in the Uralic languages” (Napolskikh 1995: 126). - Megjegyzések: (1) Nyomát sem találtam írásában annak, hogy a szerző bebizonyította volna, hogy a finnugor tízes számnévrendszer erős indoeurópai hatásnak köszönheti létét. (2) A finnugristák tudni szokták, hogy a finnségi nyelvek az ’ezer’ jelentésű szót (vő. pl. fi. tuhat) nem a germánból, hanem a baltiból vették át (1. pl. SSA 3: 318). A szerző ezen állítása azért is meghökkentő, mert ezt a képtelenséget állítólag az én számnévi monográfiámban (is) megtalálta (de 1. Honti 1993: 126). Egyébként nem közli, könyvem mely oldalairól származnak információi... (3) A szerző sajnálatos módon elfelejtette az olvasó tudomására hozni, Róna- Tas iii + 270 oldalas könyvének melyik oldalán van az általa hivatkozott állítás, szerettem volna ugyanis ellenőrizni... (4) A finnugor és különösen az ugor számnévrendszerről 1. a Honti 2003: 179. oldalon (is) előadottakat. Kovács Ferenc valóban nem számolt alapnyelvi szánmévrendszerrel, még az ún. absztrakt számnevek létezését is kétségbe vonta, ami nyilvánvalóan az uráli nyelvek adatainak teljes negligálását jelenti, vő. (1) „... in respect of the Uralic period, one has to assume the existence even at that early period of some system of counting, for, on the concurrent evidence of ethnographic investigations, peoples living at the primitive, 16 Sajnos, nem találom, hol nyitotta a szerző ezt a zárójelet.
