l passed of us, who was dealing with the methodological research of the religion series and, as an acknowledged expert of the statistical database of Upper Northern Hungary and Sub-Carpathia, at the compilation and analysis of the data, has left imperishable memory. He engaged in compiling and analysing the data of this volume but, due to his sudden death, he could not finish this work. It is hoped that in line with the other volumes of the series — which are listed in table form after the Preface — this volume alsó proves to be a realistic source with modern attitűdé which helps in sociologic analyses and meets a long-felt need.
