I. THE COMPREHENSIVE REWIEV OF THE DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING - 4. Notions applied with the population census
Persons living in the household Family Composition of the family Head of the family Notions referring to the dwellings and buildings: Dwelling unit Dwelling Notions referring to the dwellings and buildings: (continued) Groups of dwelling size Localities of the dwelling Comfort Equipment Character of property Title of use Inhabitants Building Residential building Non-residential building Character of property (as to buildings) Year of construction Walling Equipment (as to buildings) Water-supply outside of the building The definitions of the notions which underwent important changes as compared to the previous censusés are given in the following. a/ DEMOGRAPHIC NOTIONS The increasing requirements manifesting themselves against the census data necessitated - mainly on the side of the regional planning - the different definitions of the "permanent" population, in addition to the notion of "present" population applied hitherto. The condition of an adequate delimitation of the categories of the population is the accurate survey of the temporarily present and absent population. The experiences of the census of 1960 have pointed to the large discrepancies between the two notions on national level, although the differences showing themselves in the balances could have been only ascribed to the persons staying abroad and the foreign citizens residing here. For the sake of the solution, a quite new survey method had to be introduced: according to which the inquiry list of individuals had to be filled in - in the case of the persons having double residence - both in the permanent and the temporary residence. On the basis of the questions put, the definition of the category of the population became possible. 30
