Bevilagua Olga: Dear Reader!

Dear Reader! We have compiled the 22nd ceremonial volume of Múzeumi Híradó (Museum Guide) on the occassion of the formation of the Museum of Csallóköz. There is much that must be covered in this newsletter since it has been five years since the previous volume was published. Our almanac is compiled according to our previous issues and thus exists the reason for the comprehensiveness of this volume. In a short report, Dr. Mária Unti, Associate Professor of the Apáczai Csere János faculty of education (Győr) reviews a book about the geographical names of Csallóköz. Remembering the jubilee of our institute we are publishing a short retrospective by Béla Marczell, ethnographer, and Dr. Gyula Mag. PhDr. Tibor Zsigmond, the director of the Museum of Csallóköz, reports regarding the activities of the museum over the last five years. Our museum's predecessor was the museum established and managed in Samorin in 1927 by Antal Khin. Our commemoration would not be complete if we did not evoke a moment of his work as well. Pouring over newspapers and magazines of that period, his educational articles are easy to find. In this volume we are re-publishing one of his memorable writings in which he wrote about a well-known fish of Csallóköz named viza. His article was originally published in Časopis Muzeálnej slovenskej spoločnosti in 1930, which we have adopted verbatim. It's Hungarian version was first published in Csallóközi Múzeum (Bratislava, 1928, p. 50-54) and edited by Zoltán Jankó. From 1927 to 1931 Antal Khin and his students were collecting folksongs in the upper part of Csallóköz. In his study, Dr. Ernő Barsi (researcher, Győr) compiles and edits a part of this collection, evoking the atmosphere of the first period of the 20th century. In her writing, Zuzana Ludiková, a young art historian of the Slovak National Gallery, introduces the memorial plaque of derghy Somogyi György. In her study she reports many new and interesting facts about the Somogyi family of Csallóköz. Ladislav Slovák publishes a catalogue of his archive research. He has worked within the field of domestic history of Súly, his home town, for many years. He is known and respected for his parochialisms. We are publishing selected passages about a fascinating period of the village of Baka from the perspective of the history of the area, which is characterized by the work of the local vicar, Mihály Farkass. In his study, Zsolt
