Műtárgyvédelem 36 three dimensions, a dummy made from acid-free paper covered with polyethylene foil was used. The skirt fragments were cleaned and made smooth by means of careful moistening. During the rescue of the finds, the main consideration was the ‘minimal but effective intervention within the shortest possible time’ principle. As a result of the conservation work performed, the risk of any further decay of these items of attire was decreased significantly. The state of the artefacts going forward can be stabilised by the provision of appropriate climatic conditions. A szerzők cime/Authors’s address: E.
