Szántó Nikolett: A Szépművészeti Múzeum késő gótikus freskóciklusa: Cola Petruccioli falképei a perugiai Palazzo Isidoriból

Műtárgyvédelem 36 A Late Gothic Fresco Cycle at the Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest: Cola Petruccioli’s Fresco Cycle from the Palazzo Isidori, Perugia Nikolett Szántó The subject-matter of the present study is the most extensive of the late Gothic fresco cycles held by the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts. By identifying in the course of research a few allegories hitherto undetermined, and by amending the list set up on the basis of the investigations so far, we acquired a more complete picture of the original purpose of the fresco cycle and of its representation. Comprehensive analysis, systematisation, and different investigation methods have revealed the iconographic themes of the frescoes and the depiction system, which presents a basis for inferring their arrangement originally on the ceiling of the medieval palace and which can serve as a basis for further research.
