Heitler András: Vakolatok nyersanyagai és megmunkálási módszerei Cennini, Alberti és Filarete írásaiban
Heitler András ’ Vakolatok nyersanyagai Cennini, Alberti és Filarete írásaiban Plasterwork and Its Constituent Materials in the Writings of Cennini, Alberti, and Filarete András Heitler The study undertakes an analysis of three Italian treatises on artistic subjects written in the 14th—15th century, and also of the details therein concerning the materials used in plaster and the ways in which plaster was used. The earliest was a work by Cen- nino d’Andrea Cennini (c. 1360- before 1427) written around 1390: Illibro dell'arte. As well as summing up possible interpretations of expressions to be found in Cen- nini’s well-known treatise, the author introduces those sections of He rae aedificatoria by the architect and humanist Leon Battista Alberti (1404-1472) that deal with different kinds of lime and sand (II.11-11.12), as well as the part that discusses the execution of plasterwork (VI.9). Finally, the author turns to those sections of the work Trattato di architettura written by the sculptor and architect Filarete (Antonio Averlino, c. 1400-c. 1465) and dated between 1461 and 1464 that describe the materials used in mortar and plasterwork.
