Műtárgyvédelem 34 so that the strongly corrugated areas could be pressed from the backside by sealing with the mixture of quartz sand and Plextol. The sealants removed from the picture side were replaced with new sealants prepared from the mixture of Cereplaszta, Plextol B 500 and quartz grains of the right size. The surface was successfully levelled after the softening of the cotton cloth soaked with glue with Alkonek and the ironing of the wall painting on a vacuum table. Then the fresco was reinforced with epoxy-resin mixed with quartz sand and Dryvit textile glass and fixed on an Aero- lam alveolate sheet support. The completing retouches were made with watercolour and acryl-based paints. By September 2009, all the detached and conserved frescos were returned to their original places in the sediles of the church.
