Harsányi Eszter - Kurovszky Zsófia • Római kori falfestmény másolata The purpose was to create surfaces with the same appearance as the original fragments by copying the direction of the movement of the brush, the order and thickness of the overlying paint layers and by the illustration of the injuries, discolouration and wear of the fragments. A copy can naturally be prepared in many ways. Various aspects must be considered in the planning phase depending on the demands the object has to satisfy. In this case it was crucial that the object can bear the stress of transporting, it can be moved despite its weight and that it can bear its own weight. Thus the materials chosen for the purpose had to be lasting, flexible and light. My aim with the description of the preparation of the copy and the introduction of the finished copy was to demonstrate that a good copy can produce the illusion of the original object and so it can substitute it. In this case there was no need to move the original object and so it was not subjected to injuries during transportation. The wall painting of Brigetio is waiting in a sand bed for the birth of a method that does not injure the wall painting in the least yet enables that it can be exhibited on a wall or a ceiling.
