Pages - 149

In 1996/1997 Mihály Rádai, the famous “terminator" of towns, architecture and sites made videos and reports on the objects before and regularly during conservation and showed the results with the final report in the TV in the time of the exhibition. The public could follow the whole process of the conservation of the objects and the change of the restorers during this one year. This was particularly spectacular with a pregnant student. It was a very well accepted program. In 1998 the Museum of Applied Arts still hosted these exhibitions and this was also dedicated to the 25 year Anniversary of the academic training program including photos from its past, describing its curriculum, showing joint projects with other museums, for example with the Vác Museum in saving XVI-XVII c. painted sarcofagoues and costumes/decorations of mummys in a great number from the Whites’ Church crypt. The group in Specialisation of Conservation and Restoration of Wooden Objects and Furniture regularly has held its practicals in Transsylvania and has contributed to the work of the Haáz Rezső Museum in Székelyudvarhely. This has been a unique experience for the students and nice joint project for saving Hungarian cultural heritage outside the present borders. The pictures of the beautiful printed wooden chests were a unique part of the exhibition. Since 1999 the host of the exhibition, on the suggestion of dr. Szikossy Deputy Director, has been the Hungarian National Museum. The Central room is given to us where all visitors pass, and a nice exhibition based on the previously introduced lines have been designed by the designer, Head of the Faculty, Heads of Specializaions and students wonderfully. The exhibiton in 2000 was opened by Mr. Alan Cummings, the professor of the Royal Collage of Art and Crafts, who came with a group of trainers and students and spent a week in Budapest studying the state of conservation. 3.
