with the solution of methacrylate co-polymer.27 After the conservation of the metal elements, the textile was further

cleaned with an emulsion.28 Stains originating from body fluids could not be removed, although

they largely faded and the material regained the original silky lustre.

The crumpled, ragged hemming ribbon was cleaned with water.29

After the based completion of the gaps, the ribbon was sewn back with tacking stitches

through the original

holes.

Finally, a supporting shoe-tree was made from polyethylene foam rubber (2 mm thick) for the storage of the shoes. (Picture 8)
