Abstracts: The author provides a brief survey concerning the aspects of protection on damage and preservation of the wood- elements of artefacts. The main subjects: the physical-chemical structure of wood, the procedure of protection, the preservatives, the methodes, the directives of survey and the aspects of planning the protection.
