Néprajzi tárgytípusok kialakulásáról és restaurálásáról - K. Csilléry Klára: A komáromi láda és hatása a sárközi "bútorvirágozásra"
K. CSILLÉRY. Klára The Komárom painted chest and its Influence on the painted furniture from the Sárköz region - Summary The town of Komárom (today Komarno in Czechoslovakia) was the most outstanding joinery centre of former Hungary catering for the farming population. They made hope chests in the first place and distributed their products in a wide area. As soon as 1728 a chest from Komárom was mentioned in an inventory in Belgrade. The author presents how the style of decoration of the Komárom chests changed across the time. The first phase (first half of the 18th c.) is characterized by large-sized floral decoration. The second phase is distinguished by a pronounced divison of the surface with batten frames, smaller flowers and details of scenes (the second half of the 18th - beginning of the 19th c.) The third phase may be recognized by its hollow carvings and patched flowers (end of 18th c. - 1880s) In the fourth phase, by the 1870s, carving had disappeared and vivid, crammed floral painting came into fashion (until the beginning of 20th c.) Finally the author survey how the chests from Komárom were converted lpcally reflecting the taste of their users and how local styles evolved due to the influence of the second and third phase of the Komárom style.
