VARGA Péter Egy XVII. századi karabély restaurálása A karabély az Esterházy gyűjtemény egyik darabja, mely a budavári Tárnok utcai palota romjai alól került elő erősen rongálódott állapotban. Anyaga összetett: acél, vas, elefántcsont, gyöngyház, csont, fa. A szerző a restaurálást meglévő régi fénykép alapján végezte. Részekre szedés után a vas-, acélrészeket Ferropasszittal, mechanikusan végezte. A passziválás Ballistol olajjal, majd Korrolárd zsírral történt. A farészeket" alkoholos és mechanikus tisztítás után pentaklór-fenolát 1%-os oldatával fertőtlenítette. A törött részek egymáshoz ragasztására Uhu-Plus ragasztót használt. A hiányzó farészeket a faanyag vizsgálatok elvégzése után körtefával egészítette ki. A csontágyazat kitisztítása után vékony csontlemezkéket készített, ezek haj- litás után ragasztással kerültek az ágyazatukba. A hiányzó gyöngyház és csontlemezeket is elkészítette. Az ágyazat és a tusa összeragasztását, teljesen összeszerelt állapotban, ékek és fa- szoritók segítségével végezte. Az eldolgozás, finomítás után vékony politúr réteggel vonta be a fa- és csontrészeket. Ez egyben védelmet is nyújt. (L. XVIII-XIX-XX. t.) Péter VARGA Restoration of a 17, century rifle The rifle is a piece of the Esterházy collection. It came to light in a very bad condition from beneath the ruins of the palace in the Tárnok street of Buda Castle. Its material is complex and consists of steel, iron, ivory, pearl-shell, bone, wood. The author has carried out the restoration on the basis of an existing old photograph. Having been dismounted into pieces, the iron and steel parts were cleaned mechanically with Ferropassit. The passivating has been done with Ballistol oil and thereafter with Korrolárd fat. Having been cleaned with alcohol and mechanically, the wooden parts were cisinfected with an 1 % solution of pentachlorophenolate. Uhu-plus adhesive was utilized for sticking together the broken parts. After the examination of the wood material the missing wooden parts have been completed with pear-wood. After having cleaned the under-bedding of the bone parts the author prepared thin bone sheets and bent embedded them into their beddings by glueing. He has supplemented the missing pearl-shell parts and bone sheets, too. The sticking together of the bedding and the butt has been carried out in a completely assembled state by the help of wedges and clamps. Having finished and refined the wooden and bone parts the author coated them with a thin varnish layer which would serve as protection as well. (See T. XVIII-XIX-XX.) Péter VARGA Restaurierung eines Karabiners aus dem 17. Jahrhundert Der Karabiner ist ein Stück der Esterházy-Sammlung, der unter den Trümmern eines Palastes in der Budaer Tárnok Strasse in einem sehr beschädigten Zustand hervorgekommen ist. Sein Stoff ist aus Stahl, Eisen, Elfenbein, Perlmutter und Holz zusammengesetzt. Der Verfasser hat die Restaurierung aufgrund einer vorhandenen alten Fotografie ausgeführt. Nach der Zerlegung wurden die Eisen- und Stahlteile mechanisch gereinigt. Die Passivierung wurde mit Ballistol-Öl und danach mit Korrolárd-Fett durchgeführt. Die hölzernen Bestandteile wurden nach einer mechanisch und mit Alkohol durchgeführten Reinigung mit einer 1%-igen Lösung von Pentachlorphenolate desinfiziert. Zum Zusammenkleben der gebrochenen Teile wurde Uhu-Plus Klebemittel gebraucht. Die fehlenden Holzteile wurden nach der Durchführung von Holzuntersuchungen mit Birnbaumholz 105
