Duma György Cserépedények graflttartalmának gyakorlati jelentősége A régészet és a néprajz területén általánosan ismert fekete vagy szürke szinü mázat- lan kerámiákat az irodalom ma is grafitos kerámiák gyűjtőnéven emliti. A kerámiák e kiterjedt csoportja, anyagi sajátosságaik alapján és technológiai vonatkozásban egyaránt jelentősen eltérő edényeket foglal magába. A dolgozat elsőként a grafittartalmu cserépanyagoknak a természettudományos módszerekkel meghatározható jellemzőit vizsgálja. Ezt követoep leirja a laboratóriumi körülmények között folytatott technológiai kísérleteket, valamint a sajátkészítésű grafitos cserépanyagokon a grafittartalom szerepének megismerésére irányuló vizsgálatokat. A vizsgálatok alapját az ausztriai heiligenkreuzi ásatásokból származó négy jellegzetes típust képviselő középkori edény képezte. Szorosan kapcsolódott ehhez ausztriai lelőhelyekről származó grafitpalák összehasonlító vizsgálata. Ezt kiegészíti több magyarországi lelőhelyről felszínre került ugyancsak középkori, bélyegeik alapján régészetileg ausztriai eredetűnek meghatározott grafitos cserép vizsgálata. György Duma Practical significance of the graphite content of crockeries The black and grey unglazed potteries commonly known in archaeology apd ethnography are also mentioned urn . tl.o collective noun of "graphitic ceramics" by the literature to-day. This large group of ceramics includes crockeries which differ considerably fron} each- other both in respect of their material particularities and their technology. Firfit the paper is dealing with the characteristics of the graphitic potteries which can be determined by scientific methods. Thereafter it describes the technological experiments executed under laboratory circumstances, as well as the investigations made in order to recognize the role of the graphite content in graphitic potteries, made by the author. The basis of the investigation was constituted of four mediaeval crockeries representing characteristic types which were of Austrian origin, come to light from the excavations of Heiligenkreuz. The comparative investigation of the graphite shales originating from Austrian sites was closely connected with this. The paper is also completed with the investigation of some mediaeval crocks found on several Hungarian sites the Austrian origin of which has been verified archaeologi- cally and on the basis of their marks. György Duma Praktische Bedeutung des Graphitgehaltes von Irdengeschirren Auch heute sind die schwarzen und grauen, unglasierten Keramiken, die auf dem Gebiet der Archäologie und Ethnographie allgemein bekannt sind, in der Literatur unter dem Sammelnamen "Graphithaltige Keramiken" erwähnt. Diese grosse Gruppe umfasst sowohl auf Grund ihrer materiellen Eigenarten, wie auch ihrer Technologie wesentlich unterschiedliche Geschirre, Zuerst behandelt die Arbeit die, mit naturwissenschaftlichen Methoden bestimmbaren, charakteristischen Eigenschaften der graphithaltigen Tonwaren. Darauf folgend beschreib} sie die technologischen Versuche, die unter Laborumständen ausgeführt wurden, sowie die Untersuchungen, die auf Erkennung der, bei den selbstgemachten Tonwaren spielende Rolle des Graphitgehaltes gerichtet waren. 26
