Summary

The introductory part of the article emphasizes that the creation of a really valuable art work requires also a brilliantly executed professional knowledge. The impairment of a fresco is the consequence above all of the improper technique and only in the second place can be attributed to the environmental complex. The lecturer describes the wall characteristics adequate for a good fresco, the preparations for coating it with plaster, the qualities of a good plaster and how to coat it on the wall, what kind of colouring matters should be used. The executing methods of the medieval Hungarian wall-paintings are illustrated. The author pays attention to the importance of the restoration documentation.

Zusammenfassung

In der Einleitung wird nachdrücklich betont, dass die Erschaffung eines wirklich bedeutenden Werkes zugleich eine bravourvolle Kenntnis des Handwerkes erfordert. Die Beschädigung von Wandmalereien ist in erster Linie eine Folge der unzukömmlichen Technik und nur zweitens kann sie den Bedingungen der Umgebung zugeschrieben werden. Vom Autor wird beschrieben welche Art von Wand für eine gute Wandmalerei erforderlich ist, wie diese Wand zur Auftragung des Wandputzes vorbereitet werden muss, was für Eigenschaften der gute Wandputz besitzt, wie die Wandfläche damit verputzt werden soll, und was für ein Farbstoff zu verwenden ist. Auch die Methoden der ungarischen Freskentechnik im Mittelalter werden beschrieben. Schliesslich wi rd vom Autor die Bedeutung der Restaurator-dokumentation betont.
