FOREWORD TO THE 2. ISSUE OF "MÚZEUMI MŰTÁRGYVÉDELEM" Summary

The "Muzeológiai Technológiái Osztály" (Museologi- cal Technological Department), founded in 1963, was reorganized in 1974 and the scope of its activity was extended. The new institution, named "Múzeumi Restaurátor- és Módszertani Központ" (Restoration and Methodological Center of Museums), edited simultaneously several technical papers, hut it takes care of and is continuing with the claim of a regular, yearly publication the edition of a series entitled "Múzeumi Műtárgyvédelem" issued for the first time in 1970.

Our yearbook will furnish in the future regular informations about the actual restoring and research works effected in the Hungarian museums and other public collections as well, as in the research institutes, universities, and colleges. Thus we wish by registrat- ing of articles cf same nature issued elsewhere (e.g. in technical papers, museum yearbooks etc.) to call into existence a central publication organ of the Hungarian art object protection and at the same time by publishing of abstracts in foreign languages to inform the foreign specialists.
