Nevertheless, countries with a rich historical heritage must maintain old buildings, giving them new functions, usually of a cultural nature. Spain, without a doubt, is in the latter group and as a result a much higher percentage of the country’s archives are housed in old readapted buildings. As compensation for the higher cost of the readaptation, we return an old building to usefulness when it would otherwise fall into ruin.

Möst European countries and many others outside the continent may face the same problems I have described here. I think we would all find it useful to hear your opinions and contributions to this issue.
