The bearer of this will inform you of the arrival of seven armed Croats at Varna, 8 Croats also landed at Bourghas. The 7 Croats who arrived here were arrested by the local Authorities, but having been claimed by the Austrian Vice Consul here they were set at liberty. 2 are to proceed to Roustchouk to Nissa and 2 are to remain here as Cavasses to the Austrian Consulate. I think it right to inform your Excellency of this affair for the reasons which will be explained to you by the bearer of this, to put you on your guard should there be any danger. 1 are unfounded as this affair will become public and even already a representation has been made to the Pacha of this town, that there is a report that the object of these Croats is sinister to the Hungarian Chiefs at Shoumla, but the Pasha does not think it at all probable. — The bearer of this being our Authority for this report Your Excellency will be the best judge of it Yourself.
