I have also the pleasure to inform you, that General Kossuth and his suite arrived in this city yesterday evening by the mail steamer from Gibraltar, on his way to Southampton for which port he will leave tomorrow morning. He left the U. S. Ship of War Mississippi at Gibraltar. His wish was to visit England, where he proposes to place his children at school, during his absence in America. And, though the commander of the frigate proposed to wait for his return from England, yet considering the lenght of the passage by a sailing vessel, at all seasons and the inconvenience of the winter passage to a ship and to himself, he concluded to allow the Mississippi to return immediately and to take passage himself from Liverpool, in the steamer of the 9
