1 respecting the requests made to you for the conveyance to England of forty Hungarians who were not amongst the number of those confined at Kutahia and for means to enable several Hungarian and Polish Renegades in the Turkish service at Aleppo to leave the country, I have to state to you that it is very undesirable to encourage or to assist any Hungarians or Poles now in Turkey to come to England. They would find here no means of support and would be in great distress if they had not any resources of their own and there is no committee possessed of any funds available for the purpose of sending such persons from hence to America. The offer of a steamer was intended to be confined to the removal of the prisoners at Kutahia. 73. Párizs, 1851 október 13.
