(Regional Archives)

The archival groups of ecclesiastical organs comprise records of the feudal and capitalistic periods. Of these the records of the former places of authenticity are the most significant, but almost each archives preserves material derived from the extinct male and female convents. The records of these groups total 862 running metres, making 0,81 per cent, of the whole material. Family archives have come into our regional archives through salvage from war events, deposit, gift or purchase. (The records of the major landowning families are preserved by the Hungarian National Archives.) The volume of these records totals 360 running metres, making 0,34 per cent, of the whole material. The papers of private persons have come into our archives in a similar way. The volume of the personal archival groups totals 226 running metres, making 0,22 per cent, of the whole material. All regional archives preserve also collections. Taking the charters before Mohács (1526) from their original place of preservation, the archives made a separate collection of them and added finding aids on piece level to them. Manuscript maps have been placed equally into a separate collection. Several archives have also a photograph and press collection. The collections total 971 running metres, making 0,91 per cent, of the whole material. The alas, fragmentarily preserved records of the organs of the 1919 Hungarian Councils' Republic have been arranged into distinct archival groups. Their volume is only 61 running metres, 0,07 per cent, of the whole material. The volume of this group totals 775 running metres, making 0,73 per cent, of the whole material. In 1950 the new, democratic organs of local (county, district, city and village) administration, the councils have been established. These and their specialized organs (taking over the majority of the tasks of the regional
