A Békéscsabai Evangélikus Gyülekezet Levéltára (Archives of the Bé-> késcsaba Evangelical Congregation)

Two volumes have been published on the archives: A Magyarországi Ágostai Hitvallású Evangélikus Egyetemes Egyház levéltárának jegyzéke (List of the Archives of the Universal Evangelical Church of Augustan Confession in Hungary) Budapest 1912. and Elenchus archivi generális ecclesiae evangelicae Augustanae confessionis in Hungária (Budapest 1915). The first volume contains the data of the nineteenth century collection, to-day Archivum Generális Ecclesiae up to 1791; the second gives the data of the Manuscripts in the same. The list in vol. 1 is continued on sheets up to 1915. Research is possible from 9 a.m. to 12, noon and 1 to 3 p.m. in general; there is a month's vacation in summer. A previous notice on the subject and time of research is advisable. There is also a possibility of reproductions. Naturally the archival material began to be collected at the same time. The minister started a register, and soon an account book was opened, containing all income and all expenses of congregational life. The journals of the first one hundred years, written not into volumes but single sheets went astray. The material of the developing archives was enriched by the orders and letters of the ecclesiastical and lay authorities, the records connected with the constructions of the rapidly growing congregation and those with school matters.
