Principles of editing In these cases, we left it in that form in both the text and the regesta. We have followed humanist orthography when using capital and lowercase letters. We have used capital letters for the beginnings of sentences, personal names and adjectives derived from them, place names of estates and holydays of the calendar. Terms written in the Latin text of charters in vernacular are usually written there with capital letters, but in the edition they are rendered with low cases (harasth, nyírfa, tul, zlog). To simplify the reading of the text, we have brought enhanced form, while originals and other necessary explanations are provided below in the footnotes. We have fitted later additions to their correspondent place, and provided a footnote explaining it. Also, we have provided a note if the word was written twice in a row by, or if the scribe left out a word by mistake. Text which we were unable to read we have marked with (?), while illegible text was designated with a sign [—]. The parts that are not clearly legible, but can be reconstructed from formulas of other charters are given within square brackets [ ]. Those parts of the text which were omitted by accident from the original, but may be reconstituted on the basis of the context, are placed within chevrons < >.
