MISCELLANEA ZOOLOGICA HUNGARICA Tomus 11. 1997 p. 49-68 Spiders of the genus Clubiona Latreille, 1804 (Aranei, Clubionidae) in Hungary by K. G. Mikhailov and Cs. Szinetár (Received January 31, 1997) Abstract: Data of all available original materials and arachnological literature of Hungarian Clubiona species are given in this paper. Distribution of 22 Clubiona species of Hungary is mapped by the use of UTM grid systems. Key words: Aranei, Clubiona, Hungary, mapping, Introduction On the contrary to molluscs, some insects and millipedes, a cartographical study of spiders has never been conducted in Hungary. Our faunistic revision of the spider genus Clubiona is the first attempt of exact mapping and locality listing of Hungarian spiders. The aim of this work is to incorporate all available original materials and literature data on Hungarian Clubiona species. Most of the examined specimens are kept in the collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. Some material has been already cited in comprehensive revisions of Hungarian araneofauna by Herman (1879) and Chyzer & Kulczyriski (1897). Other literature sources contain only scarce data on Clubiona. Collection of C. Chyzer identified by W. Kulczyriski contains a lot of locality labels inside one vial. In such cases, we cite only the labels of the localities that are situated inside the borders of the present Hungary. The same range (only within the present Hungary) is accepted also for citations of old literature data. Due to the complicated infrageneric taxonomy of the genus, all species of Clubiona are given in alphabetic order. In the list for each species the material investigated by the authors and all literature references are given.
