Svetlana BACAL, Galina BUSMACHIU _______________________2________ alfalfa 13 phytophagous, 10 coprophagous, 8 predators and 5 necrophagous species were registered. Within the Carabidae family phytophagous species prevail; predatory species constitute 46% in winter wheat crops and 34% in the alfalfa. After the comparison accomplished between studied fields it was found that representatives of the family Carabidae are typical component of entomological complexes from both cultures, including phytophagous and predatory species. As a whole in crop of alfalfa were collected 1308 specimens of invertebrates. Among them 95 specimens are Collembola belonging to 20 species, 17 genera and 7 families; 1213 are coleopterans from 36 species, 20 genera and 7 families. In the winter wheat crop 364 specimens of coleopterans belonging to 46 species, 25 genera and 5 families have been collected. It is very important to know the status of predatory populations of Carabidae in agricultural ecosystems and to increase their potential as agents of biocontrol and to determine which agricultural practices can have a positive influence on the Carabidae populations [4]. Soil processing of the agricultural crops has strongest influences on insect complexes, during this period the coleopterans find refuge to the edge of fields and adjacent forest shelter belts. Conclusions The studies of invertebrate communities from the alfalfa field and winter wheat crop revealed 20 species of Collembola and 64 species of Coleoptera characteristic for these cultures. The species abundance and dominance established in both cultures and the comparative analysis revealed that the representatives of Carabidae family are typical component of entomological complexes of the studied cultures, including the species phytophagous and predators.
