156 I. Fábián appearance during the reign of Constantine the Great, was made after Sasanid model. As general feature the cap is made of two parts, joined by a ridge. Unlike most of the helmets of this type, which had two parts of the calotte forged in one piece, the specimen form Concesti (and those of Berkasovo, or Deurne) have their semi-calottes consisting of several parts. It seems that this type of helmet is a final stage of evolution of these late Roman helmets.
