350 TRAIAN BOSOANCÄ THE PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS OF MAY-JUNE 1920 IN THE MURE5-TURDA COUNTY (Abstract) Just put in place on the 13th of March 1920 the Averescu government as representative of the People’s Party, was to take all measures for controlling the revolutionary movement, the communist threat first, as well as for consolidating the position of the political regime. In order to win the elections, the Averescu’s party used every possible means or method, going as far as to rewrittening articles concerning electoral organization and procedures. Thus the number of deputies decreased from 569 to 367, while that of senators from 236 to 198. In the Mure§-Turda County representatives of five political parties were present at the polls: the National Romanian Party, the People’s Party, the National Liberal Party, the Socialist party and the Saxon's Party, the five deputies and two senators that resulted representing all the People’s Party. The parliament was in change until the 1st of January 1922 when the new party that had seized the power, the National Liberal Party, organized new elections for parliament.
