MONUMENTS -SYMBOL OF THE HONOURSDESTROYED THROUGH INTOLERANCE (Summary) The author brings into the attention of the researchers information concerning the monuments built between the two World Wars and dedicated to the predecessors. Being constructed with the contribution of all Romanians, on the public stage they were meant as a message to the future and to the descendants. But, since September 1940, due to the Hungarian (Horthyst) occupation over the Romanian territory imposed to us by the Vienna Dictate some of them have been brutally removed or in fact profaned even with dynamite. Fortunately, when the Romanian administration left, some monuments were saved, evacuated and placed in other localities. This was the fate of the monuments dedicated to the „Romanian Soldier“, „Lupoaica Capitolina“, „Avram lancu“'s equestrian statue and the bust of „Alex.Papiu llarian“. Among the monuments removed by the occupants, the ones dedicated to „Constantin Romanu Vivu“, „Vasile Pop“ and a number of memorial plate. LISTA ILUSTRATIILOR 1 Plan§a I: 1. Lupoaica, 1924 2.
