CORESPONDENT A I. M. MOLDOVAN —S. M1HALI 319 THE CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN IOAN MICU MOLDOVAN AND SIMION MIHALI (H) (Summary) We continue to publish the second part of the correspondence between I. Micu Moldovan and S. Mihali. In the previous issue of the revue „Marisia", p. 201—226 we edited a detailed study on the personality of Simion Mihali as well as on the whole set of letters, and in the appendix we included the first 16 pieces. In the present issue we reproduce the rest of 20 epistles addressed by S. Mihali to I. Micu Moldovan at Blaj. If the first 16 documents, presented chronologically, illustrated the period of December 27, 1866 — February 23, 1870, the 20 letters given here as a conclusion cover chronologically the space of time between March 10, 1870 and November 26, 1879. The subject matter, as in the previous documents, is mostly heterogeneous. Thus, in them can be found aspects of the prodigious activity of S. Mihali as a teacher, educator and writer of schoolbooks, as a propagator and animator of the political and cultural relationship between the Romanians on both sides of the Carpathians, as a disseminator of scientific knowledge in the large masses of people etc. It is known that Simion Mihali was born and lived in Transylvania, worked as a teacher of natural sciences at Blaj before 1860, the year in which he would cross the mountains and settle in Craiova as a teacher at a lyceum. There he would continue activity till 1891, when he retired.
