At the scholarship, named after Justin Margitay-Balogh, his mother Claudia Margitay-Balogh with scholarship recipient Dora Fenyvesi. Peter Hajek at the mike After the prayer the children took stage and there begun the line of sweet little performances of reciting poetry, singing and some instrumental music playing. Than the audience was asked to sing together the Christmas song "Kis Karácsony, Nagy Karácsony". As usual it started with a little hesitation. The children were probably waiting for their parents to take over, when little Szilvia Wahl jumped to the microphone and led the singing. Not a wrong note or word, she sang the song with perfect pronunciation too and now everyone joined in. What a good little Hungarian Girl!!! There were children from toddlers up to 14 years old among the performers: They were: Kalika Kalman, Abigél and Vivien Lynch, Petra, David and Orsolya Loboncz, Szilvia Wahl, Peter Deer, Emily Pall, Zsolt and Zoltán Vincze, Tamas, Daniel and Peter Hajek, Nathan and Tarren Horvath, Tamas and David Wolff. Congratulations to all of them for such a wonderful performance, and for all the happy and really proud parents, for raising such performers. Every year at this time the Pannónia Club Maria Horvath Sabla at the ”Bufe‘ gives out the Justin Margitay-Balogh Scholarship award to local Hungarian- American students who as youngsters actively participated in our community. This year the award went to Dora Fenyvesi who is a freshman at Iowa State University as a Dance major. Not so long ago she also took part in the Christmas shows, and promised to be back on stage next year with a dance performance. During the entire evening there were presents waiting under the Christmas tree calling all the boys and girls and at the end of the program. They were finally handed out to all who were good this year...That was of course all the children as Mrs.Zsuzsanna Deer handed each their little package. All is well that ends well, so of course with the famous Hungarian hospitality a reception followed. First there was hot dog and than all sorts of tasty Hungarian pastries followed. After the successful party, everyone left with warm Christmas cheer in their hearts. Hope your Christmas or Chanukah was blessed too. Happy New Year. E.M. ' Zsuzsanna Deer hands out the gifts.
