gUMIViER NIg^TaT THE SEA-ShoRE The Pannónia American-Hungarian Club held it second "LONG HOT SUMMER...." dance evening in the middle of July 16 at the PENFIELD 1 building on the Fairfield sea-shore. Just like last year, this evening was also a great success, judging from the large attendance and cheerful atmosphere. Helped by the favorable weather and the refreshing breeze from the open waters. It was something one dreams about, specially after a week of absorbing heat during our work or ather activities. Unlike the Club’s other program, the yearly "CAFE BUDAPEST" Ball, where the LONGSHORE INN provides the food, drinks, table decoration and all necessary services, this dance evening is the result of the hard work of the Club members. They set the tables, did all the cooking for close to twohundres guests. In buffet style, the most popular Hungarian delicacies were prepared, such as pasta with cheese (turóstészta), cabbage noodles (káposztás tészta), stuffed cabbage (töltött káposzta), sauerkraut a la Székely (Székely káposzta), fried chicken (kirántott csirke), pepper and tomato (lecsó), cucumber salad, etc, etc. The food, all Hungarian style, and were plentiful and as delicious as an outstanding Hungarian cook could make it. There was no shortage in quantity an choise of drinks (soda). For all this thanks to the dedication and cooking proficiency of the club members. Penfield 1, a summer building in Fairfield just on the water. In the day time it is surrounded by beach goers and for the evening it lends itself for a pleasant gathering, a gourmet dinner, and dancing with the stimulating fresh breeze of the Long Island Sound.
