The humid air heralded the soon arriving rainstorm but not even the steady drip-drop of water from the canvas-ceiling could slow down the by now wildly twirling couples on the dance floor, with the music of László Komwald and Miklós Újvári. Nothing could dampen our spirit. People kept toasting with fine wines, the hungry went to que up for the enticing Hungarian gourmand delights. Hours flew by like minutes - everybody wished this program, called LONG HOT SUMMER, would never end. August 9, 2003 will remain a lovely memory for all who were lucky to attend. The fabulous music, the sumptuous food, elevating company, fine program peppered with cheerful games and jokes made us all quickly forget our slightly wet outfits. Our hearts remained hot like the air had been previously. Members of the organizing Pannónia Club: THANK YOU! Klára Györgyey HUNGARIAN CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION WITH CHILDREN The Pannónia American Hungarian Club, as of every year, will have a Christmas program at the St Emery’s Church Hall. It will take place SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14, AT 3:30 PM Children from our area will perform Christmas play, reciting, and singing. The Club will give out presents to all children, the performers and the guests. At this time students who participate in the Hungarian community activities will receive scholarship. The American Hungarian Heritage Association will also join in giving out scholarship to their recipients.
