This year it was the fiftieth times that the local American Hungarians held it. It took an extreme amount of work to organize the event, and it received tremendous appreciation and praise. At one time it was moved from the trendy locations of hotels to the Westport Country Club, recently known as The Inn at Longshore. The amazing setting of this place reminds us of some castles in Hungary. As one drives in on the road lined all the way on both sides with tall trees, straight as an arrow, to make the gentle curves that soften the welcome of the mansion, one forgets that there are thousands of miles between our memories and reality. We are used to hear English spoken around us, we instantly notice if there are some Hungarian words said. Usually we respond to that. We leave this attitude at home when we go the Cafe Budapest. As the years went by the co-existence of the two languages blend together on many levels. One could hear the most proper way of Left: The opening couples are called one by one to the dance floor. Right: They line up facing each other during the introduction of the evening. Page 4 as is after fifty years^
