Immutriau (fliriötmatí at % (Cahitn (űntrcli The Calvin United Church of Christ hosted a Hungarian Christmas Program on December 23rd, the Fourth Sunday of Advent, during the Hungarian Worship Service. Before the service began, there was a reception where the participating children received gifts which were pre­pared by Karolina Szabó, Zita Balogh, and Virginia Burr. Delicious homemade pastries and refreshments were served to Page 2 all those in attendance. In the church the children performed selections that they learned for the Pannónia Club's "2001 Karácsonya" program. Hungarian poems were recited by Andrea Finta, Dayton Horvath, Tarren Horvath, Veronika Kovács, Stanley Pongracz, Attila Poznan, Kristina Poznan, Tyler Rocco, and Alissá Varga. Dayton Horvath played three selections on the piano. Many of the children were dressed as kings and angels depicting the Christmas story. The members of the congregation were pleased to hear beautiful Christmas selections in the Hungarian language. B.P. This year it was “Budapest Anno 1900,” last year it was the “Eszterhazy Dinner.” The proceeds support Hungarian causes. This years net profit of $ 16,000.00 will provide assistance to the Teleki-Bolyai Hungarian Library of Tirgu-Mures (Marosvasarhely), also opens up possibili­ties to support orphanages in Transylvania. The next Gala will be held at the end of October in 2002.
