The letter below was sent to our circulation manager, Joseph Stiber. We receive a sizable amount of notes and letters, mostly with our subscriptions. These help to give our volunteers a little boost. We show this letter in full lenght also some samples of other messages. Dear Joe, December 1, 2000 Ron and I both thank you so much for the most recent copy of the Magyar News. We too, enjoyed meeting you so much at the Pearl of Budapest and have devoured the contents of the paper. Immediately, upon saying, "Good bye", to you, we went to Kinko's to have copies made and left one with Ron's mother, gave one to A1 Tariska & Ron's brother. On our return home we had more copies made for our sons to share with them at Thanksgiving when we were all together. I intend to subscribe for Ron's mom and ourselves and will pass on copies of both to my brother and sister-in-law in Kansas who visited Hungary this past spring. I’ve also included a copy of the issue featuring the Western Jacksons in a letter to my Uncle A1 Fekete, in the event he hasn't seen it. I didn't want to take for granted that possibility. Since we hadn't had the opportunity to see him this past visit, I didn't want the opportunity to share it with him go by. I’ve read the article about Little Hungary and will, I promise you, also pass on a copy to my brother as our parents took us there often. I just loved Vernie & Bill and was delighted to learn so much more about them & their business. —As a child, I’m sure a good deal of the inside story was beyond me. A dear friend of my mother (Mary Kane) was also a good friend of Vernie —Valerie (Val) Burton Harper (or the reverse). Val lived in the apartments across the street from the Little Hungary —many memories have come flooding back. Mother’s pastor, too, was Rev. Bessemer —I wasn't aware of all he had done for the refugees who sought a home in the US from the communists. Ron & A1 Kovács spoke quite a bit of that time —they worked together for Mutual of New York at the time of the revolution and we know A1 was responsible for sponsoring many refugees. He and Ann are two of God's finest!!! When we'll be in touch at Christmas I’ll be sure to bring up our meeting, also. I have only touched upon the articles on the Surviving Hungarians and on Hungarian Statehood, but, I'm sure, I will devour those as well. Once again, our sincere thanks for your thoughtfulness in feeding our heritage. I expect we’ll be enjoying many future issues -bless you! ! ! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Sincerely, Vivien Dobey, Fredericksburg, VA If you have any remarks that you would like us to know, or you would like us to print an article on some sub ject that you wouldlike to learn about, please let us know.
