‘tjFC O'vT IiA cl ftftaC Y i .................... JAN. 24. SUNDAY starting at 3:00 in the afternoon at the United Hall on Clinton Avenue in Bridgeport a VIDEO SHOW will take place. The videos will present HUNGARIAN HISTORY with English narration. The last in this series is about the greatness and decline of Hungary. Janos Hunyadi led the campaigns to drive back the Turks. King Matthias brought Hungary’s power to the zenith. Following him the Jagellonian mon­­archs lost control that led to a rapid deteriortion. We learn about the Peasant Uprising and finally about the fateful bat­tle of Mohács. This history series is sponsored by the First United Church of Christ and the American Hungarian Heritage Association. A reception will follow the show. It would be appreciated if you want to bring along some of your baked goodies, or join your church organizations that are participating. Plan to participate in these professional video shows so that you can secure a continuity of the Hungarian history. At a later time we will continue with the rest of our history in this series. FEB. 6. SATURDAY at the Holy Trinity Hall, 225 Scofield Avenue, Black Rock, CT HUNGARIAN PORK SUPPER (Disznótoros Vacsora) will take place. Dinner at 8:00 pm, all you can eat. SATURDAY at 2 P.M. at the Pequot Library in Southport, CT, sponsored by the South Shore Music, Pequot Library and Zera’s, a music ensemble from the Ukraine, The Cheres, will perform songs and melodies of the Carpathian Mountains, Hungary and Romania on pipes, trombita, harp, fiddle and drum. Admission is free but one has to pick up a ticket at the library on the week of the con­cert. They will involve young children in their musical game, so bring them along. They also need the free ticket. Thjis will be a fun afternoon. FEB. 20. SATURDAY at the Hanover Marriott in Whippany, NJ the fourth annual REMÉNYSÉG BAL will take place. SUNDAY visiting from Hungary the world famous LAKATOS GYPSY ORCHESTRA will give a performance at the auditorium of Tomlinson Middle School in Fairfield, CT. SATURDAY the Pannónia American Hungarian Club will have its annual CAFE BUDAPEST formal dinner dance at the Longshore Inn in Westport, CT. For information and invitation call Olga Rethy 203-366-7997. MAR. 15. SATURDAY an outstanding Hungarian chorus will be visiting from Slovakia. The members are teachers and ministers.
