AND WE ARE GROWING In a previous issue we asked our readers if anybody would like to join the volunteers who put out the Magyar News. The honest truth is that we were able to handle the “phone calls” and opening the “mail.” We still keep our fingers crossed in the hope that somebody will come forward. Our advertisers already noticed that the signature on the contract renewals changed. James Pall has been handling this very important part of our existance. Our advertisers make it possible for our readers to pick up the Magyar News free of charge at the Hungarian churches and businesses. An other part of our work needed polishing. When there is a typo in the copy, I jokingly say “well that might be a Hungarian spelling.” Typos happen in every publication, even where there is a police brigade for spelling. Joining us is Bette S. Johnson who brings her educational background to us and helps avoiding mistakes, mistakes that some time come out real bad. Despite our efforts there will always be some copy that won’t reach here and the “printer’s jinks” might take advantage of it. You will see a tremendous improvement in the future. We still have openings for stamping, labeling and stuffing envelopes. Also for occasional typing, or keeping records, mailing list, etc. Among the big jobs are occasional translations from Hungarian into English. These would be edited and proofed. While we’re at it; what about writing some articles? Many people have interesting experiences, special knowledge about Hungarian matters and their participation would be very much appreciated. Here Santa. Claus comes tumbling down the chimney inChristmas Eve spreading the presents under the tree. In Hungary the baby Jesus takes on this obligation. But Santa is not left out just that Mikulás comes on St. Nicholaus day with stocking stuffers, candy and other goodies for the well behaved, and sticks and coal for the bad. This year a Hungarian Mikulás will come to Wallingford on Saturday, December 6, at 3:30 PM. It’s going to be good traditional fun. A reservation is a must, they have to know how many children will participate. The address is the same as above. The telephones to call are:203-634-0602 or 203-366-7997. Do not miss this event! Rev. Dr. Theodore Horvath from Wayne, PA., kindly called our attention to a correction that should be made about an article, A Round Trip of Fame, in our recent issue. At one place we mentioned Rev. Gabriel Dokus as Alexander. Alexander happens to be the son of Rev. Gabriel Dokus. We are sorry for the misprint. Rev. Horvath is the grandson of Rev.
