FOD A DAY THE FLAG FLEW HIGH AGAIN The Patriot’s Day celebration drew a sizable attendance at the Bessemer Center this year. Dr. Balazs Somogyi talked about Kossuth 's visit to America. He quoted from some of his speeches that became part of our democratic philosophy. As every time the children from the Fairfield Hungarian School, lead by Rev. Poznan, put on a heart warming performance with their devoted teachers. MAY 31. SATURDAY from 10 AM to 3:00 PM at Calvin United Church, Kings Highway, Fairfield, TAG & BAKE SALE. Gulyas Luncheon from 12 to 2:00 PM. JUNE 14. SATURDAY the 18TH ANNUAL GALA ROSE BALL (Pünkösdi Rózsa Bál) at the Bessemer Center on North Ave., Bridgeport. Roast Beef and Stuffed Cabbage Dinner starts at 7:00 PM. Dancing and music by Gypsy Joe’s Orchestra till 12:30 AM. Sponsored by United Church of Christ. Donation $25.00 per person - with set-ups. SATURDAY the First United Church of Christ is sponsoring Á Trip to New York The itinerary includes - Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. Before coming home there will be a stop at the South Street Seaport. The bus leaves from the church at 9:30 AM. The cost, including all the above is $42.00 per person.
