0pn*&tc(á, i*t Antonio Procaccini, though not Hungarian, was a member of the University of Bridgeport Hungarian Scholarship Committee in the early 1980's while serving as Organist and Choir Director at Saint Ladislaus Roman Catholic Church in South Norwalk from 1978 to 1982. A native of Fairfield, he currently lives in Astoria, Queens and is an Assistant Treasurer for Banco Santander in Manhattan. During the last fourteen years his efforts were focused with the Italian Graduate Scholarship Committee. Antonio was the first American scholarship winner for study in Siena, Italy in 1984. The warmth and friendship of the Hungarian-American community y always remained with him. Antonio returned to Hungary at the beginning of this year and looked up two of our friends in Budapest. ☆ ☆☆☆☆☆☆ Frank Fekete was bom in the U.S. and spent most of his life here. We know each other from Andrew Warde High School (Class of 1976) where we played for the school baseball team for three consecutive seasons. He has been living in Budapest for about four years and is the manager of Champions Sport Bar, located about two minutes walk from the Budapest Keleti train station. Just follow Rákóczi utca two blocks South until Alsoerdosor ut, turn right and you’re there. During my frequent visits I noticed Frank mingling with Hungarian, British, American and Italian patrons with the smoothness and calm of a great proprietor. The bar sports nine TV screens with simultaneous broadcasts of live sporting events from all over the globe and offers a full menu. I highly recommend the Magyaros Pizza! Balazs, Toni and Frank On the personal side, Frank is still active in sports and received a certificate of appreciation from U.S. Marines based in Hungary for his kind patronage and service to them. Needless to say, I am very proud of my high-shot friend and thankful for his help in finding me a room to rent in beautiful Varhegy (Castle Hill) District. Eva Federmeyer is doing well, lives in Budapest, and gives her best regards to the Hungarian community. Balazs Toth was able to see me on my last day in Hungary and we spent an entire morning together. He assisted me in my final shopping frenzy in the Vaci Utca- Csamok Ter area! Balazs is married, has two boys about ten and twelve years of age, and lives with his family in the Citadella area (Gellert Hegy). He works for a firm in computer engineering and also has his own small business in the same field. His wife is employed in catering and food preparation and distribution. He has not returned to the U.S. since his studies here in 1982 but hopes to make a return trip when it is feasible. Balazs remembers his time in the State fondly and wishes the best to the Hungarian-American community here in Fairfield County. Page 7
