4. oldal MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 40TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF CHURCH WOMEN UNITED The Annual Conference of Church Women United was held on Sunday, May 2, 1999 at the Hungarian Reformed Church in Roebling, New Jersey. There were 82 people in attendance, including 6 from Carteret, 2 from Cliffside Park, 1 from Linden, 7 from New Brunswick, 18 from Perth Amboy, 17 from Roebling, 1 from Staten Island, 18 from Trenton, and 4 from Woodbridge, plus 7 pastors. Following opening devotions, the meeting was called to order by the President, Sandy Todash. She introduced the speaker, Rev. Patricia Went­worth, pastor of Florence Methodist Church, whose topic was “Women in the Bible who have exercised strong leadership roles.” She gave special attention to Priscilla, friend and coworker of the apostle Paul. In the business meeting, the minutes were read by the secretary, Elizabeth Soltész. Priscilla Hunyady gave the treasurer’s report. The ladies decided to give financial support to a number of causes, including Hungarian Reformed seminary students, transportation to the Hungarian Reformed Youth Conference in August, and relief for disaster victims in Eastern Europe.
