Örömteli esemény volt, amikor szeptember 6-án Bogdán Mihály algondnok és felesége, Gabriella unokáját Christine-Marie-t tartottuk keresztvíz alá. A már közelgő ősz jeleként - rádióműsorunk javára - ismét elkezdtük ebédeinket, melyet minden vasárnap megtartunk, 11 órai magyar nyelvű istentiszteleteink után. These committees will meet time and time again to work out our most effective ways to be here and the new century as an effective and supportive congregation as we have been for 95 years in this community. With the arrival of the fall season, we are ready to resume our regular schedule of events. On the first Sunday of September, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Gusztáv Bolcskei, Presiding Bishop of the Reformed Church of Hungary visited the congregation with the Rev. Bertalan Tamas as the Synod’s Secretary on External Affairs, and assisted during our Holy Communion worship services. On Labor Day weekend, a few of our elders attended the Annual Presbyter’s Conference in Ligonier, PA. The Women’s Guild also conducted their first meeting and made themselves ready to host their first great event of the fall season, the Chinese Auction. Our Fellowship Coffee hours also resumed with the change that instead of one individual being the host, Sunday after Sunday, we will have volunteers for every Sunday. On September 19, the first day of instruction was held for our Confirmation Class. On this same day the Fellowship Covered Dish Dinner was held in honor of the opening day of our Sunday School season. After the retirement of the former teachers, a brand new staff will take hold on the direction and instructional needs of our Sunday School. We are very happy for the new teachers and are looking forward to working together with our children. Our busy schedule will not let up for a few months. As far as our future plans are concerned, we are making our preparations for celebrating the 95th Anniversary of the existence of this congregation sometimes in November. We extend an invitation to all those in the community to join us in building a church where everyone would feel at home, where the mission of the church is being fulfilled one member at a time and where the members build themselves into the Kingdom of God as living stones. Május 10-én anyák napi ebédet rendeztünk, amelyen Chester Dániel, Keszthelyi Veronika, Lester Stanley, Newman Stephanie és Vass Zsolt szavaltak és a lelkipásztor egy angol nyelvű beszéddel köszöntötte fel az édesanyákat. Május 30- án a Női Kör egy városkörnyéki üzletnél magyar ételvásárt rendezett. Május 31-én pünkösdi istentiszteletet tartottunk úrvacsoraosztással. Az úrvacsorái kenyeret és bort Harris Richardné pénztárosunk adományozta. Június 21-én apák napi ebédet rendeztünk. Július 19-én az egyház Női Köre nyári ebédet rendezett. Július 26-án, Új Kényérért hálaadásul, istentiszeteletet tartottunk úrvacsoraosztással. Az úrvacsora elemeit Rendes István ellenőr és neje adományozták. Augusztus 16-án hangulatos nyári pikniket rendeztünk a templomkertben. Szeptember 13-án ismét a Női Kör rendezett közebédet. ROSETON, NEW YORK Június 7-én, vasárnap reggel, pünkösdi úrvacsorái istentiszteletet tartottunk. Az úrvacsorái kenyeret és bort Széli Fred gondnok adományozta. Augusztus 23-án Új Kenyérért hálaadó istentiszteletet tartottunk úrvacsoraosztással. Az úrvacsora elemeit ismét Széli Fred gondnokunk adományozta. MIAMI, FLORIDA Lelkipásztor: Lukácsi László és Éva 2236 Mindszenthy (NW 14TH) Street, Miami, Florida 33125 Telefon: (305) 638-1631, Fax: (305) 638- 4595 Ebben az évben jelentős mérföldkőhöz érkezik gyülekezetünk, mely ötven éve alakult és szerveződött. Fél évszázada hírdettetik az ige magyar nyelven Eszak-Amerika legdélibb nagyvárosában, mely időközben metropolisszá, világvárossá nőtte ki magát. Isten ajándéka lett a Magyar Egyesült Egyház, hogy azok, akik északabbról idetelepültek, el ne vesszenek a népek tengerében. A magyar kultúrális, nemzeti hagyományok ápolásában a Kossuth Polgári Kör is már 46 éve működik az egyház égisze alatt. Kölcsönös segélynyújtást adott a többi szervezet is: az Egyházsegélyző Női Kör mely szintén ötven éve működik; az Irodalmi Kör, a Színjátszó Kör, Népitáncos Kör és a Sportkör. Mind évtizedek óta aktív szerepet töltött be egyházunk eleiében.
