MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 13. oldal — NEWS FROM OUR CONGREGATIONS — — EGYHÁZI HÍREK — CARTERET, NEW JERSEY Pastor: Peter L. Toth 175 Pershing Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey 07008 Telephone: (908) 381-7109 Chief Elder: Leonard Sendelsky “WITH FAITH AND CONFIDENCE” LORANTFFY WOMEN’S GUILD REPORT: The purpose of the Women’s Guild is to unite the women of the church in accordance with the Christian standard. It is of great importance for me to act as a guiding light to capture the talents and enthusiasm of all the women to consider joining the guild. If each and everyone of us can give a little it can lighten the burdens of those who have given a great deal of themselves in the past. Some things we do from time to time in our lives plays like a rerun. Our lives is not a rerun, God gives us a fresh start each time we are willing to take it. We can create new ideas as to how to improve upon our growth within our church. We can create a new script in which we can change the future of our successes. Every time we create a new script, we create a fresh start. I am using my imagination how to create a vision of love and harmony. I begin my vision as a co-worker to express my desires to create an atmosphere of kindness and loving friendships. I imagine the world as God created it to be filled with love and harmony. At this time I would like to thank my officers who have served me well. Vice President - Patricia Vowell - Chaplain and Treasurer Helen Sheridan - Alternate Secretaries - Marge Jensen and Kay Peter. I wish to express my gratitude to the members who have served me to the fullest beyond my expectations and to Rev. Toth for his prayers and spiritual guidance and to the inspiration and encouragement he has given to me. I owe my successes to them. I would also like to thank our congregation for their support in all of our projects. “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ.” (2 Corinthians 2:14) I owe my gratitude to our Chief Elder Leonard Sendelsky and to the Board of Elders for allowing me to serve with them as Secretary and Bookkeeper. I have been overwhelmed with enthusiasm to be part of a great organization. In Loving Memory we all feel the loss of our members Margaret Spiclin and Esther Horvath. It is a sad time when we lose a member. It is a call from our Father. “In my father’s house there are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:1-2) With faith and confidence I am looking forward to great expectations and optimism that our church will flourish. We all have been given gifts that enhances all talents and abilities we may have. This gift is the love of God. He has created the human being and we have been created to express it. In order for it to grow to its full potential we must accept it. “Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them.” (Romans 12:6) Pearl Hatten, President THE MEN’S CLUB: As I emhark on my third year as president of the Men’s Club I reflect on this year; one which I consider my most challenging so far, largely due to a steadily decreasing membership. However, I am proud to say that despite this challenge, the few active members we do have still manage to meet once a month for fellowship and to accomplish the goals we set for the continued support of our church. I am extremely happy to announce that our annual Renovation Fund Drive was a real success this year and I want to thank everyone who helped make this event the success that it was, especially all of the captains. This year the Men’s Club made an Easter donation of $5,000 and a Christmas donation of $1,500 to our church. At this time I would like to urge all the men of our congregation to join the Men’s Club and participate in the fellowship and activities the club has. For it is only with your participation and cooperation that we can accomplish our missions for the benefit and good of the church. Our officers for the year 1997 are as follows: Joseph Timari Jr., President Ernest Jenei, Vice-President Rev. Peter Toth, Chaplain & Secretary István Gergely, Treasurer I am ever hopeful that the year 1997 will show an increase in membership and prove to be a more successful year overall. Joseph Timari Jr. President. r A szereksztőség, ezen számban^\ közölt anyagokért köszönetét fejezi ki a WARC vezetőségének, valamint a REFORMPRESS szerkesztőinek, névszerint: Robert C.
