MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 13. oldal of the congregation Rev. August J. Molnár. An exhibition featuring the history of the congregation and the community of Charleston (formerly known as Kreischerville), which is still on display in the church hall, honors the 80 years of dedicated Christian service by pastors and people who have worshiped here. A flag dedication worship service to pledge two flags, an American and a Hungarian, was held on Sunday, April 28, 1996. The Hungarian flag was pledged in loving memory of Priscilla B. Molnár, wife of our pastor, Rev. August J. Molnár. The service included the reading of poetry and prose about life, love, happiness, beauty and faith which were of great inspiration to Priscilla. Rev. Molnar’s sermon “The Flags and Recalling Their History” focused on the history of the Hungarian and American flags and what they represent to each nation and its people. Linda Hauck, President of the Board of elders, shared memories of Priscilla and reflected on her love for family and friends, her gentleness and kindness, her patriotism, her strength and courage, and her smile. The Hungarian flag, the ultimate symbol of our heritage, was offered in dedication by the congregation to the memory of our beloved friend, Priscilla, who died one year ago. The Molnár family and the congregation gathered for a reception in the church hall, following the raising of the American and Hungarian flags, outside the church. Our current membership (voting members) is 27, although we regularly have visitors who attend our worship services and support our activities and events. Our Sunday School program consists of 5 children, ages 5-8. We express our sincere appreciation to our devoted teachers, Esti Kosa and Linda Cutler. Our dedicated members tirelessly devote their time and efforts, and with God’s guidance, we are able to sustain and maintain. Our planned 1996 events include 3 Chinese auctions, annual bazaar, annaul picnic, Heritage Day (October 20), stuffed cabbage sale, kolbász making and a congregational Christmas party. We focus on how much we can do, not how few in number we are. This is the secret to our success. Linda Hauck ^ ^ j íjMM * .
