A 40 éves jubileumi ünnepet január 20- án tervezzük megtartani. PERTH AMBOY, NJ For many it may sound unbelieveable, but the year 1990 is slowly but surely passing over us. The year truly flew away. Looking back on its passing days and months, one question its length. Yet we realize that by the gracious will of God, we have received opportunities and possibilities, that will be gone with the passing year. One think we may say, “blessed be the name of the Lord” for all his gracious dealing with us. What’s happening in Perth Amboy in the last two months of the year? The answer is simple: many things. On November 9th, under the sponsorship of the Women’s Guild a successful Chinese Auction was held. Many thanks to their members and to all who helped to make it a success. On November 11th, under the sponsorship of our Christian Education, Sunday School, a very successful Thanksgiving Breakfast was held, with free will offering in the Church Center. Clear profit was to assist our Sunday School treasury. Many thanks to our teachers and helpers and our members who attended the breakfast in excellent numbers. On November 18th, our Annual Thanksgiving Banquet was held following a Combined Worship Service. Our Church Center was filled with our members and representatives from our sister churches. Truly, it was an occasion of true fellowship. On November 22nd: Thanksgiving Day Special. Thanksgiving Day service was held in our Church, providing an opportunity to our members to express their thanks to God. It is our hope that our members will use every opportunity to worship with us. Vital Statistics: Funerals: Lambert Baber Jr., at the age of 13 in an accident died, his funeral was held on Nov. 10th. Also, on this same date Mr. Francis Lanky Toth entered into eternal rest after a year of suffering at the age of 75. May God’s comfort be with the sorrowing family members. Wedding: On November 17th, Anthony Roberts and Elizabeth Herczeg were united in marriage. May God guide the young couple in their lives. To all our members and friends we extend our heartfelt greetings for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. ROEBLING, NJ Our church sent contributions for the various projects of our sister church in Hungary: the Sárospatak, Pápa, Ráday in Budapest, Kolozsvár in Transylvania Kollegiums and other aids to the Transylvanian refugee funds, etc. The $700 donation was personally delivered by our Rev. D. Abraham, bishop emeritus, former pastor of our church. The Women’s Guild continued its various projects to aid the church: bake sales, Hungarian noodle making, and helped the men at the kolbász sale. The Thanksgiving and Christmas covered dish dinner was hosted by the Lórántffy Society and Women’s Guild on November 18th and December 16th to promote fellowship among our members.
