14. oldal MAGYAR EGYHÁZ POUGHKEEPSIE, NY Lelkipásztor: Forró Sándor, Esperes 9 Grove Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 Telefon: (914) 454-2560 és 454-5735 Március 27-én, vasárnap délután, az egyháztagság, pártfogóink és gyermekeik részére húsvéti szeretetvendégséget rendeztünk, amelyen bemutattuk a ,,Jonah and the Big Storm” című színes, vallásos filmet. Április 1-én nagypénteki, április 3-án pedig húsvéti istentiszteletet tartottunk. Az utóbbi alkalmon úrvacsoraosztás volt, amelyre a kenyeret és bort Bordás Csaba gondnok adományozta. Az úrvacsorái adakozás 741 dollár volt. Április 10-én, délben, az Amerikai Magyar Református Egyesület helyi tagsága delegátusválasztó közgyűlést tartott egyházunk gyülekezeti termében. Április 23-án, szombaton, egyházunk Női Köre sikeres ételvásárt rendezett egy városkörnyéki áruházban, amelyből a Kör tiszta bevétele 484.37 dollár lett. Május 1-én, vasárnap délután, az Amerikai Magyar Református Egyház keleti körzete évi Nőszövetségi Konferenciáján egyházunk Női Körét özv. Kalmár Sándorné elnöknő, Baráth Jenőné alelnöknő és Kovács Vincéné jegyző-pénztáros képviselték, akiket a Lelkipásztor vitt el Perth Amboyba, a gyűlésre. Május 8-án anyák napi ebédet rendeztünk a gyülekezeti teremben, amelyen Maglóczki György jegyző ünnepi beszédet mondott, és Brandt Jason, Maglóczki Judith, Vass Beáta, Vass Edward és Vass Zsolt szavalatokkal köszöntötték fel az édesanyákat. Május 22-én pünkösdi istentiszteletet tartottunk úrvacsoraosztással. Az úrvacsorái jegyeket Galambos László ellenőr adományozta. A június 5-i istentisztelet keretében a Lelkipásztor Hughs Allen és neje (szül. Kiss Katalin) újszülött fiúgyermekét a Matthey, Allen nevekkel a szent keresztség sákramentumában részesítette. Június 11-én, szombaton este, mozi-előadást rendeztünk, amelyen bemutattuk „A beszélő köntös” című, régi, szép magyar filmet. Június 19-én apák napi ebéd volt a gyülekezeti teremben. Június 10-én, vasárnap délután, hangulatos nyári pikniket rendeztünk a templomkertben. Közreműködött a „Rózsika és László” híres magyar tánczenekar. A piknik tiszta bevétele 1096.36 dollár lett. PEEKSKILL, NY Április 10-én, húsvéti istentiszteletet tartottunk úrvacsoraosztással, amelyre a kenyeret és bort Anderson Alexné pénztáros adományozta. Május 29-én pünkösdi istentisztelet volt úrvacsoraosztással. A jegyeket Anderson Alexné és özv. Pócsik Ernőné adományozták. ROSETON, NY Március 27-én húsvéti istentiszteletet tartottunk úrvacsoraosztással. Az úrvacsorái kenyeret és bort Széli Fred pénztáros adományozta. Május 15-én pünkösdöt ünnepeltünk úrvacsorái istentiszteleten. A jegyeket ismét Széli Fred pénztáros adományozta. CARTERET, NJ We launched a full scale Renovation Project in the beginning of the summer, and we have some great results. The Bethlen Hall kitchen was renewed with beautiful new range and ovens, covered with a sophisticated fire extinguisher system. The ceiling tiles were changed, the woodwork cleaned, four fans were installed for energy sufficiency. Thanks to the members of the Men’s Club who are helping us with the renewal of the Hall. The Women’s Guild is helping us with renovations in the church, which was repainted completely inside, the woodwork refinished, etc. The stained glass windows were fixed, cleaned. We are working on repainting the flagpole, fixing the fence around the church and parsonage, etc. Rev. Nitsch himself repainted the inside of the parsonage. There is a lot to be accomplished yet in this 85th Anniversary year, and we need all your help. The response to the Renovation Fundraiser is great, but we still need your support. We would like to extend our invitation to all, to participate in our 85th Anniversary Dinner-Dance to be held on October 22nd, Saturday, at 6:00 p.m. We hope that all our area churches will send representatives. In the summer we set the Lord’s Table for New Bread Holy Communion, and we are getting ready for the new Sunday School year. The Men’s Club Fundraising Dinner- Dance will be held in September. Kolbász will be made on September 13th, orders must be in by the 1st. We will participate in the Ethnic Day festivities of Carteret on September 18. Our Atlantic City trips are entering its 7th year, with two buses twice a week, usually on Monday and Wednesday. If you are interested, call about these free trips Joe or Marge Kara at 541-6546. Funeral: Steven Kovács (32) on July 25; Michael Breza (73) on August 8, 1988. NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ Every Sunday the English Worship Service is at 9:30 a.m. and the Hungarian Worship Service is at 11:15 a.m. Sunday School at 10:30 a.m. After the summer recess our Sunday School Classes will be resumed on Sunday, September 11. The 13th Annual Hungarian Festival turned out to be a huge success. The Festival was sponsored by the Hungarian Churches and Organizations of New Brunswick. There were about five thousand people in attendance. Our many thanks to all those who helped us. On Sunday, October 2, we will observe World Communion Sunday.
