12. oldal MAGYAR EGYHÁZ the service the Woodbridge Hungarian Scout Troop pres­ented the Christmas story in poems and singing. We bid farewell to the year 1983 in a service on Dec. 31 morning. On January 1, 1984 there was a combined service, when the newly elected officers of the Lorantffy Women’s Guild and the Men’s Club were installed. Officers of the Guild are, President: Marge DeStefano, V. President: Mary Fischer, Treasurer: Barbara Jenei, Secretary: Nancy Sadowski, Chap­lain: Helen Sheridan, Corresponding Secretary: Marge Jensen. Officers of the Men’s Club, President: Ernest Jenei, V. Pres­ident: Robert Fischer, Secretary: Michael Kovács Jr., Treas­urer: John Nemish. We appreciate and than last year’s of­ficers for their dedicated work. The Guild donated $6,000, the Men donated $1,000 to the church, along with many re­pairs underwritten by them. Hurka and kolbász was prepared by the Guild on January 30, 31, with the new meat grinder they just purchased for $1,300, after the 30 year old machine gave up. Our Annual Meeting will be held on February 12, 1984 after a combined service. For the first time in our church a budget will be presented for the new, 1984th year. VITAL STATISTICS of 1983: 3 Baptisms, 6 Marriages, 8Funerals, 7 Confirmants. Our Church’s 1983 income was: $71,676.58, expenses were: $63.296.44. McKeesport, pa At our November 7, 1983 Congregational Meeting we re­elected Officers: John Kontz, Chief Elder; Albert Fazekas, Vice Chief Elder; Grace Kontz, Secretary; Robert Jordanhazy, Treasurer; James Lewis, Assistant Treasurer; and elected: Steve Balogh, Re­cording Secretary (Recorder of Special Donations) ; Linda Lewis, Financial Recording Secretary (Recorder of donations in envelopes, etc.); James S. Balogh and Grace Kontz, Au­ditors. Elders Reelected: Steve Balogh, Albert Fazekas, László Hazafi, John Jordanhazy, Robert Jordanhazy, John Kontz, Gabor Orris. Installation of officers and elders was held on December 4, 1983. Since our last report: Funerals: On September 17, 1983. Rev. Tamas officiated at the graveside service of Mrs. Irene Lavora of Brooklyn, N.Y. She was cremated and buried at the McKeesport-Ver­­sailles Cemetery. Mrs. Helen M. Perez Mathers, born March 18, 1918. Died Dec. 2, 1983. Date of Funeral: Dec. 5, 1983. None of the ones who were buried were members of our church. Although our Communion Services at the fall season were very well attended, due to the very cold spell at Christmas, the Christmas Day Service attendance was much lower than usual. Our Ladies are still busy making Hungarian Noodles and in December, they prepared dinner for a Bowling Group. Holy Communion will be celebrated on the First Sunday in Lent, March 11, on Maundy Thursday, April 19, and on Easter Sunday, April 22. PERTH AMBOY, NJ By the grace of God we have reached the New Year. We have no knowledge of what it holds for us. Nevertheless we are confident that by His love our life as a congregation will be renewed, that we may faithfully carry on the work en­trusted to us as God’s people. Looking back at the past year, we are joyful and our hearts are filled with thanksgiving that by the everyday experiences we have prospered spiritual­ly as well as physically. Our financial status is more stable, thanks to our members and not needing major repairs. The Annual Year Book with the reports of individual organizations was prepared and given out to the members. The Con­gregational Meeting is planned for February 12, Sunday fol­lowing a combined worship Service. Statistical information from the past year shows the fol­lowing: 5 Baptisms, 2 Confirmations, 6 Marriages and 15 funerals, this number includes those not active in the church. At the end of this report we extend our greetings to all, wish­ing a happy and healthy New Year to everyone. TRENTON, NJ Our Christmas services were well attended by the members of our congregation, even though the cold weather may have kept some home. On Christmas Eve and Day our church was filled. During the month of December all the organizations work­ing within the church and the Sunday School held their tradi­tional Christmas Party. Entering this new year of 1984 we gave thanks to God for His help and pray for His continued guidence, for this is an important year in the life of our congregation. We will be celebrating the 90th anniversary. We are planning to cel­ebrate this important anniversary on Sunday, October 21st. The names of the newly elected officers of the Church and Church organizations will be in the next issue. On Saturday, January 7th, the Youth Group sponsored a “Rock Music Seminar,” which was well attended by youth of our neighboring churches and Burlington, N.J. BAPTISMS: On Sunday, October 30th, during the English service, the Rev. Stephen Kovács baptized his grandson, Daniel Douglas. He is the son of Daniel Kovács and his wife Susan Jean Barns. God-parents: Joseph J. Kovács and Lorraine Kovács. On November 12th we baptized Alicia Ann the daugh­ter of William Allen Vágott and his wife Carol Ann Nagy. God-parents: Robert Nagy and Ruth Nagy. WEDDINGS: October 30th: Richard B. Wyszynski and Mary F. Fabrizi and November 5th: Joseph Vecsei and Suz­­anna W. Nedohon. FUNERALS: November 12th: Mr. Stephen F. Berish, Nov. 21: Mrs. Margit Borcsik, Nov. 29: Mrs. Sussana Miklowitz, December 1: Mrs. Gwendoline Király, Dec. 19: Mrs. Susan Robotin, January 3rd: Mrs. Julius Sabo, Jan. 7: Mr. Andrew Süveg and Jan. 12: Mr. Leslie Mizsur.
