ber, October and November the outstanding events were: the Labor Day worship service and the pot-lock-dinner. The Lord’s Supper was served on October 3rd, World Wide Communion and on October 31st on Reformation Day. The sacrifice of the Thirteen Hungarian Generals of the Hungarian Freedom Fight of 1948—49 was observed on October 10th. The Martyrs of Arad are rememberd by us year after year. The Hungarian Freedom Fight of 1956 was re­membered on October 24th. The television station, Channel 7 of N. B. C. broadcast a portion of our program for four minuts at its 6:00 P. M. news. The leaders of our church thanked for the thoughtfulness of the Station in an official letter... Here is the Constance of the letter... The name day celebration of Elizabeth’s and Katleens were celebratead on November 21st, after the worship service. Approaching events in December: The yearly Bazaar of the Woman Cancer Association, for the Cancer Reserce Institute will be held on Decem­ber 4, and 5th at the Bayfront Park Auditorium. Our congregation represent the Hungarians with a decorated Christmas tree and food-booth. Christmas tree festival in our Church on December 19th, after the worship service. Christmas Day worship and communion at 11.:: A. M. Name-day party, to honor the Stephens and the Johns on December 26 after the 11:00 A. M. worship service. The Board of Elders and the Ladies Aid of our Church cordially invites our brethren visiting in Miami to our family-type-worship and fellowship. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. In gratitude and Thanksgiving to God, we stand before him as individuals and as a Church, that by His grace He leads us to the close of this year. In appreciation for all His benefits we stood before Him at our Thanksgiving Service, and Banquet. Attendance at both these occasions were more than our average attendance. It is our hope that our people are truly aware of the many blessings the Lord has provided for us. The month of December opened with our “An­nual Christmas Bazaar”. The Good Hungarian food and fellowship that this afternoon offered was very well attended. The Spirit of Advent and Chirstmas has settled with love upon our hearts. On each Advent Sunday, special “Advent Wreath” services were offered in our sanctuary. Our Christian Education Department, Satur­day and Sunday School children provided an unforgetable program for all to enjoy. We were happy to have with us representatives from the area congreagations. The Church Council in appreciation for faithful attendance of church schools, provided a memorable gift to all children. In accordance to our Christmas traditions, the youth and interested membert of the church visited our families with their Christmas Carols. They had been received with great joy. The schedule of our Holiday Services are as follows: Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, Combined Ser­vice at 7:30 P. M. On Christmas Day, Our English Service will begin at 9:00 A. M., and Hungarian at 11:00 A. M. At both services the Sacrament of Holy Communion will be observed. Dec. 26, Sunday, Holiday Closing services will be held on Regular Sunday Schedule. MAGYAR eG/fiAZ 11. oldal Dec. 31st. Thanksgiving Service for the 1982 year will be held at 7:00 P. M. In greeting the New Year, Services on Sunday Schedule will be held on Sunday, January 2nd. Vital Statistical records: With great sorrow we said farewell to Mrs. Carolina Soos, and Mr. Robert Seamann. May God’s comfort be with their sorrowful families. ROEBLING, NJ. On October 17, the church hosted the Eastern Classis Elders’ Meeting. Delegates attended from all over the classis. A dinner featuring homemade kolbász and stuffed cabbage was provided by the Women’s Guild. The dinner was donated by the Roebling Church. To celebrate her 75th birthday, Mrs. Matilda Todash provided the refreshments for a coffee hour following our October 17 church service. The Youth Group planned the annual Hallow­een Party, which was held on October 24. Their guests were the members of the Youth Group from Carteret. Everyone had a wonderful time, and the highlight of the afternoon was bobbing for apples. We have a very busy holiday schedule. On No­vember 21, our church will join with the other churches in Florence Township for a Thanks­giving service. Also on November 21, we will celebrate the Advent season by making wreaths and with special family donations. December 5 will mark the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of the Young Women's Guild, which we will commemorate with a special coffee hour. The Women's Guild Christmas Party will be Decem­beró, and the Children’s Christmas Program will be held on December 19, to be followed by a covered dish dinner. Our Christmas schedule of services will be as follows: Christmas Eve, 7:30 P. M.; Christmas Day Communion Service, 10:15 A. M.; New Year’s Eve, 7:00 P. M. Our program to renovate and spruce up the church was helped along by Mr. Bert Somogyi, Sr., and Mr. Zoliié Varga, who painted the kitchen. Congratulations to Mrs. Emma Peter, who was chosen the Senior Citizen of Burlington County on November 9. Her special talent, flower arranging, helped her to win the title. She will compete in the New Jersey Ms. Senior Citizen pageant in Atlantic City. Congratulations are also due to Tammy Varga, daughter of Zoliié and Janet Varga. Tammy competed in the Special Olympics on November 9, and won two first place and one third place medals in swimming. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! STATEN ISLAND, N. Y. September was a busy month for the members of our church. Although work starts a year in advence in planning the yearly Bazaar, the major work falls on the members in September. This year, as always it turned out to be a huge success. Profit being $176.00. Ann L. Reischour, a retired school teacher and a faithful member of our congregation, is in the Eger Lutheran Home convalescing after a fall. Send Ann a card for she sure loves everyone from far and near. Address to: Eger Lutheran Home, 120 Meisner Ave, Staten Island, N. Y. 10306. Our pas President, Alexander Teryek, retired from a company after 35 1/2 years service. Penn Walt, formerly S. S. White Dental Mfg. Co which is located now in Piscataway. Shan, as we all know Alexander, has been commuting to N. J. for many years. He is young retiree because of the years completed. A dinner in his honor was held in November. We wish Shan health and happiness and many hours on the golf course, which is his favorite pass time. God grant him many years to enjoy with his wife Catherine. November 28 — 1st Sunday in Advent. Holy Communion at both services. December 24 — Christmas Eve. Candlelight Serv ice with Holy Communion. December 25 — Christmas Day. Hungarian Serv ice with Holy Communion. TRENTON, NJ. Mrs. Margaret K. Ture, who served as City Clerk of Trenton, N. J. for many years, retired. On June 25th, a Retirement Dinner was held in her honour in our Grand Ballroom. Many of her friends from the City of Trenton and certainly from our congregation were present. We wish Mrs. Ture, God’s blessing and many years of happiness. On June 27th, during a picnic the Hungarian Civic Association of Trenton, honored Mr. Joseph Jenei, who is our first Vice-Chief-Elder, as the Man-of-the-Year. We congratulatie Mr. Jenei. On Sunday, October 31st, we held Bethlen Home Sunday in our church. The Rev. Paul Ko­vács, Administrator of the Bethlen Home, served during both services. Also, on Sunday, October 31st, our traditional Reformation Day Dinner was held, with very good participation by our church members. All our fall activities have started. The church organizations have their regular meetings, Sun­day School is held every Sunday, and our Bible Study Group meets again. Baptism: On August 22nd, Danielle Ann and Alexander Douglas, the children of Alexander Parrey and his wife, Linda Maltby. Godparents: Carrie and Kirk Riechert and Richard Parrey and Bonita Gaston. Also on August 22nd: Brian Samuel, the son of Harold Foster and his wife, Sharon Fisher. Godpaerents: Robert Foster and Laurie Lacy. Wedding: June 6th: Mr. Robert Barry Sutton and Miss Donna Jean Czap. Witnesses: Mr. Greg Kocák and Miss Janice Babanicz. Funerals: June 8th: Mrs. Theresa Gyöngyösi; June 19th: Mrs. Elizabeth Szabó; June 29: Mr. Joseph Cheby; July 20th: Mrs. Alice Toth Yaeger; July 26th: Mrs. Elizabeth Oszi; July 28th: Mr. Anthony Mészáros; August 4th: Mr. Albert Nagy; August 16th: Mrs. Gustav Didrence; August 24th: Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Beres; and August 27th: Mr. Charles Perry, Jr. The comforting power of God be with the sorrowing families. On Sunday, October 24th and November 21st, the Rev. Stephen Kovács served during both services. The pastor of the church was in Youngstown, Ohio, on those days, performing the marriage ceremony for his daughter. On October 23rd, Eva Hargita married William Andrew Pugh and on November 20th, Barbara Anne married Richard Wayne Watkins, Jr. The pastor of the Youngstown, Ohio church also took part in the services. On Saturday, November 20th, the Women’s Guild of our church had their Annual Bazaar. Hand craft, bake goods were sold and a hand made Quilt was raffled off.
