MAGYAR GGYftÁZ 13. oldal NEWS FROM THE CONGREGATIONS I ALLEN PARK, MICH. The Men’s Club had its first kolbász-sale of the new fall season. The Docas Guild sponsored a very successful “Chinese auction” October 10th. Many special prizes were donated by generous church members. Thanks and appreciation to all. The Ladies Aid Society purchased new convec­tion ovens for the church kitchen, which will be used for the first time at the Fall Bake Sale and Bazaar. The Golden Circle Club had a fall dinner dance and is now making plans for the celebration of New Year's Eve. The Martha Circle sponsored a “Western Night” on October 16th. All who attended had a wonderful time. The Sunday School will have a Holloween party October 30th. Classes are open and waiting for everyone: nursery thru adult class. The Junior Youth Choir rehearsals are held every Sunday after the first service. All children 6 to 12 are invited to join the Junior Choir. The Christian Youth Fellowship members are making preparations for their annual Christmas card party social. The general repairs around the church have been completed: new roof on the flat-section of our building, parking area resurfaced, cushions were placed in the pews, paneling all around the auditorium: total cost $35.000. Fülöp. Marriages: Donnie L. Holley and Debra Immel on August 20th; Dean Varga and Tammy M. Avery on August 28th; Gregory H. Dees and Debra C. Kuehn September 11th, and Frank Vágó and Eleanore Simonyi September 25th. May God bless the young couples. BETHLEHEM, PA. We baptized Robert Martin the new born son of Alan Jordanhazy and Susan Hesselman Jor­­danhazy. Godparents are Jeffrey Berkosky and Martha Hesselman Lowry. We buried Mrs. (John) Sophie Fejes at the age of 86. She was born in Dudar, Veszprém County, Hungary. She was a faithful member of Grace United Church of Christ. We buried also Mrs. Mary Turóczy, who was 84 years old. On September 12th we held Bethlen Home Sunday. Guest speakers were Rev. Paul Kovács administrator and Rev. Béla Oláh. August 22nd Rev. Nagy preached at the 15th Anniversary Church service of the Bethlen Hun­garian Presbyterian Church in Union, New Jersey. On August 22nd Rev. Paul Ferenczy preached the Word of God in our Church. Rev. Nagy represented the Eastern Classis at the Directors meeting of the Bethlen Home in Ligonier, Pa. On October 3rd we had World Wide Com­munion service. Mr. and Mrs. James Kovary, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Biro, and Nagy family donated the holy elements. Mr. Steve Toth treasurer of our church arrived home safely from Hungary where he visited his ailing parents. The sister of Geza Vegh member of our con­sistory passed away in Hungary. May God give consolation to the bereived family. On October 10th and 17th the Rt. Rev. Dr. Ist­ván Mészáros and the Rev. Ferenc Dusicza were guest speakers in our church while Rev. Nagy and his wife were on vacation in Florida. Holy Communion for New Wine will be held on November 21st. Mrs. Julius Kadar, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Biro will donate the holy elements. CARTERET, NJ. The cooler days of spring with the coulours of autumn always bring a spiritual renewal to our Church. Sunday School started in the middle of September, all the groups started with anticipa­tion this new season. The Lorántffy Women's Guild together with the Men’s Club participated at the Borough’s Annual Festival, where they sold products of our famous Hungarian kitchen, with pretty good success. The Women's Guild held a very successful Flea Market and Rummage Sale, where the Sunday School had a Cake Sale. The leftover clothing was donated to the Haitian Mission. The Annual Dinner-Dance will be held on October 30. The Christmas Bazaar will take place on November 27-28, where only handmade arti­­crafts will be sold, made by the ever talented women. The Guild’s Christmas Party will be on Dec. 4, the Sunday School’s Christmas Party on Dec. 19—where the main attraction will be a Christmas clown with his family. The Church Council sponsors this year a New Years Eve Dinner Dance, all are invited to our beautiful Bethlen Hall. Our pastor participated together with elder John Nemish at the Ligonier Ministerial Associa­tion Meeting. Funerals: Sept. 27, John Fodor; Oct. 9, Julia Dalyai. May God bless their memory. PERTH AMBOY, NJ. All our church organizations resumed their ac­tivities. The Women’s Guild made preparations for their Fall Rummage Sale which was held on Oct. 7 and 8. with a great success. Christian Education is in full swing. Our Rally Day held on September 12 Sunday afternoon was well attended, and the planned activities were joyfully received by young and old. We had a Christian clown for entertainment and all in attendance sent a balloon carrying a Bible message with the address and phone number of the church. We received calls from far and near where those balloons landed. Our Christian Edu­cation still continues on Saturday and Sunday, where we provide a balanced program of Christian teaching and Religious Arts and Crafts. Youth Fellowship work together and participa­tion has grown under the able leadership of Ken­neth Matto, Supervisor, Advisor. The Church Council meeting in the month of September ful­filled their obligation of voting for the upcoming Synod Elections. Among the planned activities we can list a Social Evening Grape Festival Dance and the spiritual fellowship of Bible Studies twice a week. Vital Statistics: with great sorrow we said fare­well to Emma Seemann faithful member and Flower Chairperson and William Kovács, former custodian of the Church. They will be greatly missed.
