From Palm Sunday through Easter good size congregations followed in spirit the passion story of Christ and witnessed to their faith in his resurrection. The service on Saturday in Holy Week, however, was very poorly attended. Donations during the holidays far exceeded the expectations. The Junior Women’s Guild sponsored a theatre party to the Radio City Music Hall in New York City; the Sunday School made a trip to the Barnum-Bailey Circus, also in New York City. The Guild entertained members of the Lorantffy Society at a Mother’s Day Party. We do not mention it in every issue, only time to time — like now — we pay tribute to our Lorantffy Society ladies for their untiring work in the monthly sausage making. They do this not only with enthusiasm and competence but also with excellent financial results. We are also happy to report that they get valuable help from members of the Junior Women’s Guild and from the men of the church. On April 16th the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, Branch 202 sponsored a spaghetti dinner in our fellowship hall for the purpose of fraternal activities, with good success financially and prestige wise.
